Ephesians 3 ESV
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
“Knowing and Understanding the Godhead.”
Satan's strategy is to keep us at a distance.
Do we really understand each of their unique position, their distinct roles and their relation to us?
The triune Godhead…….
They all have individual identities and roles
But
They are completely intertwined and inseparable.
We fail to recognize their individual identities and we failed to tap into an intimacy with each one
GOD THE FATHER
GOD THE SON
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
————-
1. We believe in a triune Godhead?
2. We believe that the Trinity is unique, but they are also inseparable.
———
“OF” God or “FROM” God
“IN” Christ or “THROUGH” Christ
“BY” The Spirit
———————-
They seamlessly flow together.
———————
3 Their unique roles have “exponential implications” to us as the children of God.
Luke 15 ESV
11 “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. 17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

A. The robe - The robe of righteousness declaring our acceptance “From” The Father as sons and daughters.
Isaiah 61 ESV
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
————-
B. The ring - The new covenant we have “In” Christ as our bridegroom.
Eph 5:22-27 esv
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Skip 28
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
—————
C. The shoes - The strength to walk out our faith “By” the person of the Holy Spirit.
John 14 esv
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,

“Without” understanding

“With” the understanding

these unique AND individual relationships with……..
When I pray…. To The Father
It’s relationally specific. (Son to a Father)
It’s positionally correct. (He’s God “from whom” all things flow)

John 14:10 esv
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
John 14:28 esv
28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
When I pray… To The Son
It’s relationally specific. (His bride)
It’s positionally correct. (His authority over me first, over all things)
(Lord/ Master, Bridegroom)

When I pray… To The Holy Spirit

Are we praying…
From a SON perspective?
From a BRIDE perspective?
From a MENTEE perspective?
