Mark 9

17 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. 18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid.

20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.

21 And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 And Jesus said to him, “If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”

Families have hidden secrets.

Families have skeletons in the closet.

Family brokenness is the most painful kind of broken. 

Amnon (David's son) raped Tamar (his half-sister). 

Absalom killed Amnon

Absalom was banished for 3 years.

Came back to Jerusalem, two more years without seeing the King's face.

Absalom started a coup. (rebellion)

David and all the palace officials fled.

Absalom slept with all of David’s concubines.

Absalom was killed in battle.

2 Samuel 7:12-13 ESV

12 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body,[c]and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

IS ANYTHING IMPOSSIBLE WITH THE LORD?
