Titus 3 ESV
1 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, So to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray,
slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness,
SAVED US = RESCUED US FROM DANGER AND DESTRUCTION.
5 he saved us, NOT because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.
Washing of regeneration =
Refers to a new spiritual birth.
Being born again.
Being born again =
Accepting God’s forgiveness.
Submitting my life to Christ.
Begin to follow his purpose for our lives
To be born again means…
I admit that I’m a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
I turn from my old way and towards God.
I give control of my life to Jesus as Lord.
John 3 KJV
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
“EXCEPT A PERSON BE BORN OF THE CLEANSING WORK OF THE WATER EVEN THE SPIRIT, THEY CANNOT BE BORN AGAIN.”
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
JUST LIKE THE WIND CANNOT BE SEEN, IT IS IDENTIFIED BY ITS ACTIVITY AND SOUND.
IN THE SAME WAY, THE SPIRIT’S WORK IS IDENTIFIED BY ITS ACTIVITY AND EFFECT.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
John 3 ESV
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Ephesians 2 ESV
1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we “all” once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE………
HIS LOVE.
HIS FAVOR.
HIS APPROVAL OF US THROUGH THE BLOOD.
“WE WERE ALL SLAVES TO PASSIONS AND PLEASURES.”
CAME TO MY DEATH CONDITION TO RAISE ME TO HIS LIFE CONDITION.
WASHING OF REGENERATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT HE POURED OUT ABUNDANTLY.
“SALVATION IS A NEW BIRTH”
2 CORINTHIANS 5 ESV
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
SOME CHANGES ARE IMMEDIATE. & SOME CHANGES TAKE A LITTLE WHILE.

GALATIANS 5 ESV
17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.
