Exponential Part 6

Ephesians 3 ESV

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith) that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge

That you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

Ephesians 5 ESV

25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ LOVED the church (THAT'S US)

And gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

That we might know the LOVE of Christ

1. WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT JESUS?

2. He owns everything and We get everything because we belong to Him!

3. There is an enormous dichotomy of truth in Christ our Lord.

He is both Lord of my LIFE and lover of my SOUL.

A. He is Lord of my life!

Luke 6 ESV

46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

We can’t have His authority

Unless we give up our authority.

B. He is Lover of my soul.

Ephesians 3 ESV

19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge,

Hebrews 12:2 ESV

For THE JOY that was set before Him, Jesus endured the cross.

If we knew THE LOVE of Christ

WE could accept THE RULE of Christ.

Ephesians 5 ESV

25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ LOVED the church and

gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

In splendor - highly esteemed, glorious, honorable, gorgeous.

Without spot - stain, defect.

Without wrinkle - A fold.

Holy - sacred and pure.

Without blemish - morally faultless and blameless.

Ephesians 1 ESV

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship

THROUGH Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—

6 to the praise of his GLORIOUS GRACE, which he has freely given us in

the One he loves. 7 In him WE HAVE redemption THROUGH his blood, the forgiveness of sins,

REDEMPTION -

Payment that buys one’s freedom. The clearing of one’s debt.

Ephesians 1 ESV

7 In him we have redemption THROUGH his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s GRACE 8 that he lavished on us.

LAVISHED FAVOR =

SOMETHING THAT EXCEEDS A MEASUREMENT.

OVERFLOW

TO EXIST IN ABUNDANCE.

If we knew THE LOVE of Christ

WE could accept THE RULE of Christ.

4. Our constant companion.

John 14 ESV

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, TO BE WITH YOU FOREVER, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
